  Half hearted JWs compared to past generations

  is it just me or has there been a massive change in jws of late?.

  when i grew up in the cult they had a real sense of urgency and would do an hour minimum, these days it’s not even ten mins before coffee break.. same goes for everything else, it’s half hearted .

  Probably,,,, each subsequent generation is more intelligent & more savvy than the former.

  The advent of the internet.

  The information age.

  And the cost of living. People work longer,, things cost more,,commute,,,,

  People dont have time for religion anymore. And giving up time & energy & receiving so little in return.

  I hear dreadful experiences of conventions in the 1950s of 5 plus days conventions.

  Imagine its 95degrees in the shade sitting there on bleachers. Having to camp out in crowded campgrounds with no a/c,, mosquitos,, flies & outhouses.

  I remember growing up in the 1980s of the convention starting on Thursday afternoon & lasting all weekend in some arena all day on plastic moulded seats. No a/c & crowded concourses.

  Over on the Reddit forum,,,,,,, it looks as if its covered in the December 2024 watchtower.

  About the literal number 144,000 " conspicuously" left out.

  How convenient.....

  Drop that literal number and they can push their narrative as far as they can. Overlapping generations,, then dropping the 144,000 number altogether. They can kick this can down the road indefinitely!!!!!!

  Paradise earth,,Armageddon,, just a harmful ploy and mind trick to keep the $heeples working & indoctrinated!!!!

  Good for you.

  That way you can easily purge yourself from this 2 class unscriptural belief and harmful paradise earth doctrine.

  I dont think anybody,,,,,really can vouch about an afterlife.

  I believe you are on to something!!!!

  More and more,,,,its all about the governing body. ""Our future kings,, the governing body"". Its all about them.

  The 2 class 2 tier system is such a fundamental core teaching in JWdom.

  Abandoning it almost totally eradicates the principal of life on earth in paradise.

  Having to earn that prospect is a cornerstone doctrine of this prospect of surviving Armageddon then the 1000 year period,,, the ""final test"",,,,, then paradise.

  What the hard core hardliners have resolved to for decades is suddenly erased in one new understanding. Its almost like the 2 class system which the Borg has held onto for over 89 years is nullified.

  This 2 class system has been the backbone of JW theology since the 1930s Rutherford era. Its what makes the JW theology ""unique"",, separate or different.
